Not only families, spouses, kids, friends, coworkers, and employees are losing someone due to the trap of addiction, but also our ecosystem and environment are being damaged.
When I see our ecosystem is being damaged and some animals in extinction are actively concurring, I realize that the most important organisms, humans are also in danger of extinction due to toxic substances.
As a certain animal extinction affects another animal's survival, human extinction due to drug addiction affects our surroundings as well.
The more humanity can survive the better we all feel. It seems undoubtedly to me that not only those around me feel sadness when they think about extreme poverty and mortality in Africa, for example. A similar feeling we can feel when someone's life is falling apart by the impulse and uncontrolled use of a substance. We may feel powerless to solve these problems. Addiction in society is the topic I chose to be the focus on my blog since this is the topic that have made a big impact in my world view.
To free ourselves from drug problems:
- Youth must STOP taking in destructive messages, such as drugs are ok or cool to consume and should stop letting drugs control their life.
- Adults must move and take action about this. Speak up and defend youth, create protective laws, stop the abuse, help and stop indifference about the danger of drug use.
- Elderly must teach and speak to their younger generations about what is going on with drugs that they have seen in their all life experience.
- Kids must be informed about the truth behind drugs.
